SaaSComparely (saascomparely.org) is an independent editorial publication that helps businesses compare CRM platforms, project management tools, workflow automation software, and other SaaS products. We are not a software company, and we do not sell, host, or operate any of the products we write about. Our job is to research, test where possible, and explain the trade-offs between different tools so that the people reading us can make a more informed decision.

This Privacy Policy exists because visiting a website — even a purely editorial one — still involves some exchange of information. This page explains what we collect when you read our comparisons, fill out our contact form, or leave a comment on an article, why we collect it, and what choices you have. We’ve tried to write it the way we’d want a policy written if we were the ones reading it: in plain language, without padding it out with clauses that don’t apply to a site like ours.

If anything here is unclear, you can always reach us directly at info@saascomparely.org.

Who We Are

SaaSComparely is edited by Noah Bennett and a small team of contributors with backgrounds in product management, customer success, and digital marketing. We publish structured comparisons and reviews across a handful of SaaS categories — CRM, project management, billing, workflow automation, and adjacent tools — with the goal of explaining how software performs under real conditions rather than repeating vendor marketing copy.

We are the data controller for the personal information described in this policy, meaning we’re the party responsible for deciding how and why that information is processed.

Scope of This Policy

This policy covers the information we collect through saascomparely.org itself: when you browse our articles, use our contact form, leave a comment, or otherwise interact with the site. It does not cover the privacy practices of the software companies we write about, or of any third-party site you reach by clicking a link in one of our articles. Once you leave saascomparely.org, that company’s own privacy policy applies, not ours.

Information We Collect

Information You Voluntarily Provide

We collect information directly from you in a small number of situations:

When you contact us. Our contact form asks for your first and last name, your email address, and your message. We use this solely to respond to your question, feedback, or correction request. We don’t require a phone number, and we don’t ask for any information beyond what’s needed to have a conversation with you.

When you comment on an article. If you leave a comment on one of our posts, we collect the name, email address, and (optionally) website you enter into the comment form. Your email address is used to generate a Gravatar image next to your comment if one is associated with that address, and is never displayed publicly. If you check the box to have your browser remember your details for next time, a cookie is set on your device for that purpose — more on that below.

When you email us directly. If you write to info@saascomparely.org outside of a form, we’ll have whatever information is contained in that email and any reply thread that follows.

We do not currently operate a newsletter signup, and we do not offer user accounts or logins. If that changes, we’ll update this policy to describe what’s collected and why before the feature goes live.

Information Collected Automatically

Like nearly every website, saascomparely.org automatically receives some technical information when you visit. This typically includes your IP address, browser type and version, the device you’re using, the pages you view, how long you spend on them, referring and exit pages, and general location information inferred from your IP address (usually no more precise than city or region level).

We use this information in aggregate to understand how people use the site — which comparisons get read, whether pages load properly, and where visitors are coming from — rather than to build a profile of any individual reader.

Cookies and Similar Technologies

Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device. We use a limited set of them:

  • Functional cookies that support core site behavior, such as remembering your comment details if you’ve opted in to that on a previous visit.
  • Analytics cookies, which help us understand aggregate traffic patterns — how many people visit an article, roughly where they come from, and which comparisons get read most.
  • Cookies that may be set by embedded third-party content, such as the Google Maps view on our Contact page, which operates under Google’s own cookie practices rather than ours.

We do not use cookies to build advertising profiles for third-party ad networks, and we don’t currently run display advertising on the site. If that changes in the future, we’ll update this section to reflect it and give you the relevant controls.

Analytics and Performance Tracking

We use website analytics tools to understand traffic patterns and content performance — for example, which comparisons are most useful to readers, and whether a page is easy to navigate on mobile. This data is collected in aggregate and is not used to identify you personally. Analytics data typically includes the technical and behavioral information described above (pages viewed, time on page, device type, approximate location).

How We Use Your Information

We use the information described above for a short list of straightforward purposes:

  • To respond to messages sent through our contact form or by email
  • To publish and manage comments on articles, including preventing spam
  • To understand which content is useful to readers and improve our comparisons accordingly
  • To maintain the technical security and reliability of the site
  • To meet legal obligations where they apply

We do not sell personal information to data brokers, and we do not use the contact details you give us for marketing you didn’t ask for.

Legal Basis for Processing

For readers in the UK and European Economic Area, our legal basis for processing personal information depends on the context. When you contact us or leave a comment, we rely on your consent, given by voluntarily submitting the form. For the technical information collected through normal browsing and basic analytics, we rely on our legitimate interest in understanding how the site is used and keeping it secure — an interest we’ve weighed against your right to privacy, and which we believe is proportionate given how limited the information is.

Affiliate Relationships and Disclosure

SaaSComparely is editorially independent. We don’t accept payment from software vendors in exchange for favorable placement in our rankings, and we don’t run sponsored reviews. That said, some of the links in our comparisons — including links to products like Stripe, Paddle, Chargebee, and others we write about — are affiliate links. If you click through and eventually sign up for a paid plan, we may earn a referral commission from the vendor at no additional cost to you.

Clicking an affiliate link does not give us access to any information about you beyond what the destination site collects on its own. We don’t receive your payment details, account information, or usage data from these referrals. Our commercial relationship with a vendor never determines whether that vendor gets a positive or negative assessment in our content; we’ve built our editorial reputation on being willing to say when a cheaper or less profitable option is actually the better fit for a reader’s situation.

Third-Party Services

Running an editorial website of this kind typically involves a small number of outside services that help the site function. For SaaSComparely, this includes:

WordPress and Elementor, the platform and page-building software the site is built on.

WPForms, which powers our contact form and handles form submissions.

Gravatar, a service operated by Automattic that generates profile images for commenters based on their email address, if one exists for that address.

Google Maps, embedded on our Contact page to display our office location. Google’s own privacy policy governs any data collected through that embed.

Website analytics software, used to understand aggregate traffic and content performance.

Each of these providers processes data under its own privacy terms, and we encourage you to review them directly if you want more detail on how they specifically handle information. We choose service providers that we believe take data protection seriously, and we don’t share more information with them than is needed for them to do their job.

Links to External Websites

Our comparisons and reviews link out constantly — to the software vendors we’re writing about, to pricing pages, documentation, and sometimes to other independent sources we’ve cited. These links are a core part of how a comparison site like ours works. Once you click through to an external site, that site’s own privacy policy applies. We don’t control, and aren’t responsible for, how those third parties handle your information, and including a link in an article isn’t an endorsement of that company’s privacy practices.

Embedded Content

Some pages on our site include embedded content, such as the Google Maps view on our Contact page. Embedded content from another website behaves exactly as if you had visited that website directly — it can collect data about you, use cookies, and track your interaction with the embedded content, all according to that provider’s own privacy policy rather than ours.

Contact Forms

The contact form on saascomparely.org collects your name, email address, and message. This information goes to our editorial inbox and is used only to respond to your inquiry, whether that’s a correction to an article, a topic suggestion, or a contribution pitch. We don’t add contact form submissions to any marketing list, and we don’t share this information with the vendors or software companies we cover.

Data Retention

We keep contact form submissions and email correspondence for as long as reasonably necessary to address your inquiry and to maintain a record in case you follow up later. Comments left on articles remain visible as part of the public discussion under that post unless you ask us to remove them or we remove them ourselves for moderation reasons. Aggregate analytics data is generally retained on a rolling basis and is not used to identify individual visitors after collection.

If you’d like us to delete personal information we hold about you — for example, an old comment or a contact form submission — email us and we’ll handle the request promptly.

Data Security

We take reasonable, industry-standard steps to protect the information submitted through our site, including relying on reputable hosting and form infrastructure and limiting who on our team has access to submitted messages and comment data. That said, no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we can’t guarantee absolute security for any information you send us. We’d encourage you not to include sensitive personal or financial details in a contact form message or public comment.

International Data Transfers

SaaSComparely is read by people around the world, and the third-party services we rely on — including our hosting and form infrastructure — may process data on servers located outside your home country, including in the United States. Where this involves transferring personal data out of the UK or European Economic Area, we rely on the safeguards those providers have in place, such as standard contractual clauses, to ensure your information continues to receive an appropriate level of protection.

Children’s Privacy

SaaSComparely is a business and SaaS-focused publication intended for a professional adult audience — people evaluating software for their team or company. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the relevant minimum age in your jurisdiction), and our content is not directed at children. If you believe a child has submitted personal information to us, contact us and we’ll delete it.

Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights over the personal information we hold about you, including the right to:

  • Know what information we’ve collected about you
  • Request a copy of that information
  • Ask us to correct inaccurate information
  • Ask us to delete information we hold about you
  • Object to or restrict certain kinds of processing
  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent, such as a comment or contact form submission

To exercise any of these rights, email us at info@saascomparely.org. We’ll respond within a reasonable timeframe and may ask for enough information to confirm you’re the person the request relates to.

California Privacy Rights

If you’re a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), gives you additional rights, including the right to know what categories of personal information we’ve collected about you, the right to request deletion, and the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. SaaSComparely does not sell personal information, and we do not share personal information with third parties for cross-context behavioral advertising. If our practices change in a way that would qualify as a “sale” or “share” under California law, we will update this policy and provide the required opt-out mechanism before doing so.

GDPR Rights

If you’re located in the UK or the European Economic Area, you have the rights described in the “Your Privacy Rights” section above under the UK GDPR and EU GDPR, respectively. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority if you believe we’ve mishandled your personal information. We’d appreciate the chance to address any concern directly first, at info@saascomparely.org.

Cookie Choices and Managing Browser Cookies

Most web browsers let you control cookies through their settings — you can typically block cookies entirely, delete existing ones, or ask to be notified before a new cookie is set. Because our own cookie use is limited to functional and basic analytics purposes, blocking cookies shouldn’t affect your ability to read articles on the site, though it may mean features like the comment “remember me” option won’t work as expected.

If you’d like specific guidance on managing cookies in your browser, most major browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge) publish their own instructions for this in their help documentation.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this policy from time to time — for example, if we add a newsletter, change analytics providers, or adjust how the contact form works. When we make a meaningful change, we’ll update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. We’d encourage you to check back occasionally, particularly if you’ve previously submitted information to us through the site.
